Steering and wheels are the vital parts in a car which helps in smooth movement of it. When comes to car steering, there are two types in it. Manual steering and the power steering. Based on the car manufacturer, the steering component may differ. The entire control of a car lies on the steering wheel. Bentley manual gear box uses a clutch to regulate the transfer of torque from engine to the transmission and it allows the driver to select any forward gears. In manual transmission, the selected gear pair is locked to the output shaft which is located inside the transmission. When it comes to the power steering gear box, it is attached to the engine chassis and it heps in adjusting the torque according to the need. In manual steering, rack and pinion gear set is enclosed in a metal tube, with each end of the rack protruding from the tube. A tie rod is connected to the spindle of the wheel. The steering rack converts the rotational motion of the steering wheel into the linear motion required to turn the wheels. So, if you turn the steering wheel right or left it pushes the rack right or left and that's how the wheels turn. And the power steering rack is composed of a rack enclosed with a steering pinion. The high pressure fluid port on the either side of the piston plays a major role in the movement of the vehicle. Thus all the components in the steering system should play its role properly to ensure comfortable driving experience.
