Every one likes to have a safe and enjoyable driving experience. Your Dodge satisfies all your needs, only when it is in perfect condition. Car steering parts plays a major role in your Dodge. Mostly all the modern cars has the power steering mechanism. The power steering gear box is attached to the engine chassis. But in case of manual steering, the gear box uses the clutch to regulate the transfer of torque from engine to the transmission. Rack and pinion steering is a simple mechanism and it is becoming the most common in all type of steering on cars. In manual steering, rack and pinion plays a major role. The rack is a metal tube with a tie rod on both the ends which connects the steering arm of the wheel. The steering shaft is attached to the pinion and it gets moved according to the steering movement. If you turn the steering wheel left or right, the pinion also moved either left or right and finally it helps in moving the wheels. Hence the rotational motion is converted to the linear motion. The steering rack turns the wheels easily. In power steering system, the rack model differs. The rack contains a cylinder with piston in the middle. The piston is connected to the rack and in the either side of the piston where the two fluid ports are situated. The steering pump is connected with the steering wheel. So if you turn the steering wheel, the pump passes the high pressure fluid and moves the rack by hitting the piston.
